Collision industry members are invited to join the CREF reception during SEMA on Nov. 5 at the Las Vegas Hotel.
Collision industry members are invited to join the Collision Repair Education Foundation during their industry reception the evening of Tuesday, November 5th from 9-10pm at the Las Vegas Hotel (formerly the Las Vegas Hilton) during SEMA 2013. During the reception, attendees will hear about the organization’s efforts to support secondary and post-secondary collision students, 2013 donors/supporters will be highlighted, and the two recipient schools of the 2013 Ultimate Collision Education Makeover $50,000 school grant will be announced.  Additionally, the winner of the AAA Northern California Makeover $50,000 school grant, several $10,000 school grants, and other industry sponsored grants will be announced.  Industry members will also have an opportunity to meet and greet attending collision school instructors and students.

Collision Repair Education Foundation Director of Development Brandon Eckenrode noted, “The industry is invited to join us for the second annual reception to not only announce over $200,000 in support to collision school programs but also help showcase how the industry has come to the aid of secondary and post-secondary collision school programs, instructors, and students nationwide. Many within the industry may not realize the fact that the Collision Repair Education Foundation operates and is able to provide to support to this group exclusively through industry donors. This event is meant to showcase that support and say thank you for making it possible. Please consider joining us as we work towards fostering a new level of entry-level professionals for the industry.”

The goal of the Ultimate Collision Education Makeover grant is to honor a school that has been doing an outstanding job in educating students in collision repair, but needs some financial assistance to improve their program’s teaching materials and equipment. With strained school budgets, the Education Foundation and industry supporters have the opportunity to bridge the program’s financial gap and to make a difference in the lives of the students studying collision repair. As part of the Makeover grant application, schools provide an itemized wish list which can include any tools, supplies, and equipment that are needed by the collision program. Each of the 2013 winning schools will have their $50,000 wish list fulfilled through the Collision Repair Education Foundation and industry donors/supporters.

Additional details of the event will be made available as the date approaches however industry members are asked to RSVP for the reception by emailing attendee information to [email protected]. Questions regarding the reception and/or the Education Foundation’s efforts to support the future of the collision industry can be directed to Director of Development, Brandon Eckenrode at [email protected] or 847.463.5244.
